Aldous Huxley portrait

HuxleyPortrait

This is a portrait of the English writer and philosopher Aldous Huxley. It proved to be a challenging subject to sculpt because of the scarcity of good reference material. Aldous did die in 1963 and so there are only old black & white photographs available, moreover he seems to look very different in each one of them. The main feature I wanted to address with this image however, is quite literally his vision. Huxley suffered from his bad eyesight, but at the same time he saw more clearly than most of his contemporaries.

The image is made in Blender, rendered with Cycles. Post-production was done in Photoshop.
